CPR Anytime®
​
CPR Anytime® training kits contain everything a community member needs to learn the lifesaving skills of CPR, AED awareness, and choking relief. The kit contains content to teach the core skills of adult Hands-Only™ CPR or infant CPR in about 20 minutes. Each kit comes with a bilingual "watch-and-do" DVD, a personal inflatable CPR manikin, a skills reminder card, a replacement lung, and manikin wipes.
CPR Anytime is ideal for people who may not have access to classroom-based courses due to their schedule or location, as well as those who prefer learning on a self-directed, self-paced basis.
All CPR Anytime materials are fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

CPR Anytime is for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR skills, choking relief, and AED awareness, and does not need a course completion card to meet a job requirement.
Anyone required by his or her employer or wishing to be credentialed as a lay responder may contact Nelson County EMS to schedule a Heartsaver® course.
No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. Those nearest to someone with life threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care. According to a recent National Academies of Science study, trauma is the leading cause of death for Americans under age 46.
Remember to be aware of your surroundings and move yourself and the injured person to safety, if necessary.
